relog GmbH was established by five former employees of Nixdorf Computer AG Werksvertretung Hanover.

The orientation of the business in its early years:

    Foundation

    Kemal Yildirim opens his relog location in Bergisches Land.
    Two further locations were opened by Florian Steinmaier and Manuela Borowski. They specialized in payrolls in public services.

    Acquisition of the customer base of relog GmbH in Heidenau by Ludwig Busse and Dieter Czudnochowski. About 1,200 current payroll and salary statements were created monthly for about 70 clients at this location.

    Opening of relog in Magdeburg as a sole proprietorship by Ludwig Busse. relog Magdeburg was founded as an independent company for the area of Saxony-Anhalt.

    Acquisition of the customer base of relog GmbH in Burgwedel by Ludwig Busse. relog GmbH at that time had 3 employees. About 2,800 current payroll and salary statements were created monthly for about 120 clients.

    Opening of sites

    Opening of sites in the new federal states and a change in the legal situation occurred. Only the new offices in Heidenau near Dresden and Halle had long term stock. Mr. Schiebeck, one of the four company founders, became in subsequent years, both Managing Director in Heidenau near Dresden and in Burgwedel. Mr. Schinn, another company founder, became owner of the sole proprietorship in Halle.

    Transformation

    relog GmbH changed from a distribution company to a service provider for current payroll and salary administration. The initial investment for the Nixdorf wage COMET program and associated hardware equipment was only worth the money for larger companies. Interest in a capable and cost-efficient way to execute current wage and salary payments, however, was also expressed early on by small or medium-sized enterprises. Due to the increasing demand of these clients relog GmbH took over as the current payroll and salary administration service provider for those enterprises. In the years up to 1989, there was a successive change from relog GmbH being a distributor of hardware and software of Nixdorf Computer AG, to a service provider for current payroll and salary administration.
